Education

Although awareness of the waste problem has increased considerably (in many places plastic bags or straws are no longer provided), there is still a lot to be gained.

In addition to the concrete approach to the waste problem, CleanPenida also wants to be a beacon for change. During the introduction days of the Bank Sampah system, people are already extensively informed about the importance of waste separation and the value of different materials. And of course about the harmful consequences of plastic in particular, when it ends up in nature or the ocean.

We are also working on a program to be taught at schools, including a tour through our facility and participation in clean ups,. Through education we want to make the new generation aware of the hazards that modern consumerism can cause to their beloved island, the ocean and the whole world.
